Outboard Propellor fix

Here is a temporary fix for our propellor that I made up yesterday.

We hit a rock back at Pancake Creek and it has been slipping ever since, getting worse and worse. It’s the type with a spline on the shaft and a rubber torque bush inside. The bush was slipping badly. Tim from NOA gave me the idea to pin it and Mr Google showed me how to install it. Basically you make three grub screws that can be tightened to apply friction between the outer and inner of the bushing. It is not strictly a shear pin, and will give some protection for the gearbox if you hit rock again.

My first screws were a little short and didn’t apply enough force. Longer ones did the job nicely!

Still need to buy a new prop when next at civilisation though.
